Famous for it’s golden sand beaches, award winning pier and the West Cliff Theatre. Once was one of the busiest East coast seaside holiday destinations, but of recent years has seen a decline in visitors and tourism trade with the Butlins Holiday Camp finally closing in 1983 with 1987 everything having been demolished and the site totally cleared (now a new housing estate).
