Rightmove streamlines tenant move-in journey with Renter Checklist

The UK’s largest property platform Rightmove has launched a new checklist for renters, streamlining the process of moving into a new rental home. The checklist guides tenants through each part of the rental process, from finding a property to picking up the keys.

The new Renter Checklist is available now in My Rightmove, where people can add the property they are planning to move into and begin ticking off each step as they progress through the move-in process.

The launch of the new checklist is part of Rightmove’s mission to make renting easier for agents and tenants, by digitising and streamlining the often-complex processes involved in renting a home.

By clearly outlining the steps renters need to take to progress their tenancy application, Rightmove aims to provide greater visibility and peace of mind, helping to make requirements easier to understand.

Agents who use Rightmove’s Lead to Keys suite, a group of integrated rental tools designed to streamline an agent’s lettings business, from getting leads to handing over the keys, will be able to provide an even simpler process for their prospective tenants.

Tenants moving into a home where the letting agent is using Rightmove’s Tenant Referencing Service will automatically see the current status of their reference and any next steps in their Renter Checklist.

Tenants moving into a home where the agent uses Rightmove’s tenancy progression software, Tenancy Manager, on Rightmove Plus, will have every stage of their tenancy application updated in the Renter Checklist automatically. This will give tenants and agents even greater visibility over progress and next steps.

Tarah Lourens, Rightmove’s Chief Technology and Operations Officer said: “Through the Lead to Keys product suite, we’ve been helping to speed up and reduce admin time for letting agents, enabling them to advertise their properties and hand over the keys to tenants through one integrated system. Our Renter Checklist is the first step in helping to speed up the process directly for tenants too, making it much easier for them to see the actions they need to complete and where they’re at in the process, reducing friction and frustration in what has previously been a complex and multi-layered journey.”
