The National Landlords Association (NLA) have announced that they have been approved as an official Rent Smart Wales training provider.
The NLA have secured approval to provide training for both landlords and letting agents, they will be working in association with the UK Association of Letting Agents (UKALA).
The scheme requires all landlords and letting agents to register their properties and undergo training to obtain a licence if they wish to self-manage, it will become an offence in Wales to let or manage a property without the correct licence.
Richard Price, Director of Operations at the (NLA), reportedly said: “We are delighted to announce that the NLA will be providing training for landlords and for agents for licensing in Wales. NLA members and UKALA members will also qualify for discounts.
“While we have argued that a national register for landlords and agents is not necessarily the right approach to raising standards, we welcome the opportunity to work together with the Welsh Government to provide landlords and agents with the information and guidance they need.”
