VTUK Take on the Color Run: 16th August 2014!

We believe whoever you are in the world, it’s important to fight against cancer. Currently 1 in 3 of us will suffer from cancer in our lives. This means that every one of us will be affected by this disease. We don’t just believe it’s important to fight against canSer, we feel it’s vital to be active within the community and show your support against the disease. That’s why VTUK are taking on the Colour Run in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer and The Cancer Vaccine Institute.

We are all deeply involved in the fight against cancer and have so many deeply loved ones who are survivors. Every one of them is a brave, vibrant, loving and loved person.

It was a simple decision for VTUK to take part in the Color Run with Team Muirello, to help the fund raising organised by the beautiful Leanne and her loving husband Alistair. Less than 3 months ago, Peter and his wife Claire, Alistair and Leanne were sat together planning in Covent Garden, all four of them around the table, looking forward to making memories together and discussed where they would go and what they would do when both the girls were declared NED (No evidence of disease – this is a priceless goal of all canSer suffers).

On Sunday 8th June, in the early hours Leanne passed away and we have all lost a light from our lives. This will happen some 200,000 times this year in the UK alone and 10.2 MILLION times worldwide in 2014.

Staggering isn’t it… Yet we are so close to taking the terminal illness and changing it into a chronic disease, something to die with rather than die from. Leanne and Claire chose charities that don’t have million pound marketing budgets and chief executives to fund. Their charities are 100% dedicated to curing canSer and are at the cutting edge of really effective research both conventional and through immunotherapy.

If you are not aware of The Colour Run, it is a 5k run consisting of five different paint zones. We will start off in white, before being covered from head to toe in paint of all colours. Each zone has a different colour before the race finishes with a huge music festival. This will prove a challenge for everyone and we hope to enjoy it, as much as we can. To find out more about what we will be taking on, please visit http://www.thecolorrun.co.uk/

Please sponsor us and every single penny will go to the Doctors and Scientists researching the cure. No expenses, no admin, just fight. To visit our Just Giving Page please click below:
