We ask Yomdel some questions to find out what they offer the industry:

We asked Andy Soloman of Yomdel some questions…

What does Yomdel do?
Yomdel offers fully managed 24/7 live chat, and has a special focus and expertise in the property sector. If you ask any business owner the question:
“Where are your customers?”
There is actually only one answer these days:
“Online”.
As footfall in the high street has decreased, it is more important than ever that estate agents look for find ways to engage with their potential customers just at the point they are expressing interest.
The days of 9-5 are over. The web is a huge democratiser, and people will do what they want, when they want. No longer will they browse a shop window and then step over the threshold. These days they are likely to browse numerous websites before making a decision. It is only at the end of that process, when they have all the information they want, that they then decide to make contact. Digital disruption has changed the property market, and if estate agents want to compete they have to find ways of engaging with potential customers online. To ignore people on their website is the same as ignoring people that walk into their office – it’s not good business practice and it is effectively leaving money on the floor.
What results does Yomdel achieve?
Yomdel uses intelligent methods to target people when they are on a website. For example, Yomdel may seek out people who are likely to be thinking of selling a property or a prospective landlord. This is done from looking at the pages on the website people visit, search terms they may have used and a number of other methods.
The skilled live chat operators work off carefully defined engagement strategies that are designed to capture key information and qualify the visitor as a lead. The results can be outstanding, and typically, Yomdel will double the number of enquiries that you get from your website. As you can appreciate, this makes a significant impact.
And don’t forget, having 24/7 live chat where visitors can chat with someone whenever they wish is a really strong USP. Yomdel clients set themselves apart from their competition, and they are enabled to secure more business simply on the basis they are actively marketing property every hour of every day.
Oh yes, and let’s not forget the customer experience. Customers love it. Yomdel typically achieves customer satisfaction ratings of well over 90%, with upwards of 20% of people chatting leaving feedback about their chat experience. Whether those people become customers, they are all capable of becoming fans and advocates who would recommend the estate agent they chatted with.

Why is Yomdel different?
Yomdel mostly works purely on performance. We don’t charge setup fees, or monthly subscriptions, and are willing to frequently update the information we use to when chatting with people online at no charge. Most of our clients pay purely on a qualified lead basis, with everything else handled for free. For us, our relationship with our clients is a partnership where we closely collaborate to refine the results. We are dedicated to getting the best results. If we deliver an outstanding service and significant ROI our clients will always stay with us, and furthermore, they also then refer us to others in their networks.
Who does Yomdel work with?
Yomdel works with hundreds of estate and letting agents across the UK. We also work in other sectors such as finance and automotive, but property is our real focus. Clients include national names such as Fine & Country, and we have also been an integral part of the growth of EweMove where we offer support for franchisee recruitment and the estate agency business. EweMove has become the fastest growing national brand, and I’m very proud of the role we have played in helping support that growth. Yomdel’s 24/7 live chat is one of the core pillars of the EweMove proposition when it comes to outstanding customer service and the recent acquisition of EweMove by MartinCo also reflects on Yomdel and the work we have done. Beyond these we are working with regional and multi-branch businesses such as Balgores, Thomas Morris and Newman. But the great thing is that Yomdel is able to support everyone, from small independents through to national chains.
How much do Yomdel services cost?
There are no secrets on Yomdel pricing. For the majority of our estate agent clients, we simply charge £10 per lead, with no other costs. Not a bad investment if a valuation then results in an instruction and a tidy commission! For those businesses with significant online traffic, Yomdel can work on a per chat basis. Beyond standard lead generation, for many clients Yomdel is also booking viewings, setting valuation appointments and also dealing with tenant issues.
Andy, what is your background and why did you start Yomdel?
I’ve had quite a varied career. From managing bands and running a record label in the mid 1980s, I was then a photographer and a journalist and foreign correspondent who spent 10 years in Asia, including a fascinating seven years in Vietnam just as that country was beginning to open up. I was bureau chief for Reuters news agency in Karachi, Pakistan, when 9/11 happened in 2001. It wasn’t the best place to be living with a young family! After returning to the UK in 2002, I managed global B2B business information services for major publishers and really developed a passion for digital. Yomdel took off in 2014 when we launched our service for the property sector and there has been no looking back. Yomdel was born out of a desire to help improve the digital customer experience and look to bring human interaction online.
What’s new at Yomdel?
Yomdel also has a strong innovation pipeline. We are constantly developing new solutions and seeking ways to add value to the services we offer. One of our latest developments is a fantastic new service called “Yomdel Live Connect”. This allows us to take people directly from live chat through to a direct telephone call with the sales team of our client. The result is the hottest lead you will ever get. The conversion rates have been absolutely incredible!

And finally, I can’t end without mentioning that Yomdel has been shortlisted for the Supplier of the Year: Technology at one of the industry top UK Property Awards. This is a huge achievement and one which I and the whole team are immensely proud. Whether we win or not is not so important, what is important is that the great work we have been doing is now being recognised where it matters most – among professionals in our core property sector.
